The UGFA teaching and academic awards are normally presented annually at a reception in the fall. The following awards are available to members:
- Distinguished Professor Awards for Excellence / Innovation in Teaching (Faculty and Veterinarians)
- Excellence in Service to Faculty, Librarians, and Veterinarians
- Academic Librarianship Award
- Veterinary Excellence Award
- College Professor Excellence or Innovation in Teaching (College Research Professors, College Professors, College Lecturers)
- Jay Newman Award for Academic Integrity (open world-wide)
